Centuries ago, astrology and palmistry went hand-in-hand, no pun intended. For example, it was said that each finger reflected three planets. Different mounds and areas of the hand share the same names of the planets used in astrology. Palms were read as a reflection of the human figure, a microcosm, within the complexities of the cosmos, or astrology, as the macrocosm.
As an alchemical renaissance became in vogue, astronomy and other scientific findings started taking the forefront over divinatory methods. In an effort to conquer through dividing, a fracture was subsequently created between the astrology and palmistry.
Both astrology and palmistry look at three main points that give a quick overall view of who you are. In Astrology, those three points are the Sun, the Moon, and the Ascendant (the constellation that was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact time of your birth). In Palmistry, the three points are the life line, heart line, and head line. Although astrology and palmistry have roots from the same source, they both provide much different information.
When we are born, we are “geo-tagged” by the cosmos. The snapshot of the sky at the time you are born is what becomes your Natal Chart. It is your unique astrological signature. When an astrologer reads your chart, he or she will be able to discern your character, patterns and themes in your life, areas where you'll have difficulties, and behaviors that come naturally to you. Even though you may be inclined towards certain things, you are not obliged to follow those inclinations. This is the magic of free will.
Our hands; however, indicate what to expect in the future based on your current state. Even though your fingerprints never change, everything else can and often do. It's kind of like a blood test. An all-clear lab result today doesn't mean that it will be that way the rest of your life.
When combining the divinations of astrology with palmistry, a deeper, more comprehensive reading is rendered. Not only will a person get a clear picture of what they can expect, but they will also know why it’s happening, for how long they can expect it to last, and how to get through it.
As we enter the Age of Aquarius, the esoteric world is starting to come back into light and some of the divinatory arts that were long separated are starting to come back together.
