Happy Birthday, Taurus!

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

The Sun moved into the sign of Taurus on April 19th, 2016 at 10:29 AM CST.

Taurus, represented as a bull, is is a peace loving sign that can also be a force of nature. As a fixed sign, you can count on predictability, stability and loyalty. With this fixity also comes determination and stubbornness.

Taureans are known to have long memories. This could be very helpful as they work their way to the top. Generally a peaceful sign, although Taureans can let things go, they will never forget. Push them too hard or one too many times and you will see the proverbial bull in the china shop.

Ruled by the planet Venus, Taureans are attuned to the finer things in life. Harmonious colors, savory foods, quality fabrics, pleasant music, and comfortable surroundings. Although romantic, they are very practical too.

They have a decisive and methodical mind. Second to Sagittarius, Taureans have high integrity. Practical as ever, Taureans can't be bothered with keeping track of lies and creating façades. They are also one of the strongest of the signs - in soul and physical strength. They need to be careful though - the combination of their fixity and love of food can given them a tendency towards weight gain.

If you have a Taurus in your life, you can count on a loyal, dependable, kind-hearted person who you never have to worry about.

What the Sun in Taurus Means for You:

During this time, we are all given the strength and tenacity to follow through on projects that were initiated during the Aries sun.

Although the typical Taurus might not have time for flashiness, fly-by-nights, or innovation that will become obsolete tomorrow, they are the sign you can depend on to keep the tried and true alive. If the grid ever goes down, the Taureans will have the backup plan ready to roll out to keep progress from stopping.

Blessed with Venus - the Goddess of love and abundance - this is a time for tactile enjoyment. This is enjoyment you can receive from fine foods, comfortable fabrics, new colors on your walls or wardrobe, and the proverbial stopping to smell the roses.

With the Sun in Taurus, it's a good time to build a foundation or base for future long-term projects.

This year the Sun in Taurus might be a little more complicated than usual because of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in retrograde. Still, if there's a time to plough through it steadily with no setbacks, it's now.

Enjoy the abundance and beauty that the beautiful time of the Sun in Taurus brings your body and soul!
