Party Rates

Rates:

The Baseline Rate:

A two hour party reading baseline cost is initially $550.00, ultimately $500.00.

The breakdown of the baseline rate:

  • The first two hours is $500.00.

  • The set up fee is $50.00.  (Applied to your cost when you book. Details below.)

All remote party bookings are a minimum of two hours.

Additional Rates:

  • Any time beyond that will be prorated in 15 minute increments at a discounted rate of $50.00/15 minutes.

  • Taxes included.

  • Tips not included. (Click here for Tipping Convention.)

If, for example, you booked a 2-hour remote party, then extended an additional 1 hour, the cost $700.00 before tips ($550 baseline + $200 additional hour - $50 setup). Usually people tip 15% - 25% on top of the final price.

A Crash Course on Different Types of Readers:

Since you might have gasped at the sticker shock, I want to take this opportunity to inform you about the different categories of readers. You can definitely find in-person "fortune tellers" who will do it for half the cost. Occasionally you'll find a gem but as the old wisdom says, "you get what you pay for". I'm in the category of "boutique" readers as opposed to "pedestrian".

Pedestrian Readers:

There are two subcategories of Pedestrian readers. The first subcategory is pretty much that: they have an established "shop" (usually street level, often with a neon sign in the window) and take strangers who pass on the street (pedestrians). They generally do not do agree to attend events because they mind to their shop and they are content with the traffic they have and the space they're in.

The second subcategory of Pedestrian readers are part-timers. They have a main job doing something else and occasionally offer casual readings on the side. They either have a booth at a psychic fair, a table at a bookstore on occasional weekends, and read for whoever passes their booth at a fair or table at a shop. Or they read at home at their kitchen table or living room for friends of their (grown) children or their friends' friends, Some of them are available for doing readings at venues. They will be less expensive than me - but you are getting a person who isn't established as a business with transparent offerings, prices, or expectations. (In other words, you will get them at first impression without really knowing who you are hiring for your event.) Their accuracy will vary (reading at events is a marathon, a different mindset than reading privately, and isn't the same setting as a psychic fair where the "zone" helps them from getting distracted) but they will certainly give your event an entertainment value. If the entertainment and at a lower cost is what you are looking for, then now you know where/how to find them and if they're accurate it's an added bonus. There is no guarantee for privacy, no promise for professionalism, and no guarantee that they will arrive at your event. They often request to get paid under the table in cash - usually at the end of your event. The best of them are generally the last group I described - the ones who do it occasionally in their homes. But if you're reading this, it's because you don't have a friend who knows a friend who knows someone who occasionally does readings, you haven't had any luck finding anyone at a bookstore or psychic shop, and the ones you found at the psychic fair are people you're rather just meet only at psychic fairs and not in your home or private venue.

Boutique Readers:

Then there's my category of readers. My business is licensed with the state (Missouri), I have established business policies and prices, and there is a level of professionalism that is guaranteed. I do not take cash payments or anything under the table (you can trace your transactions with me). I come with more polish due to my background. Within my category, I also have the unique advantage of a high media profile. I also speak with you ahead of your event to go over details so I can get a sense of your needs and you can get a sense of me, what I can do, and whether or not I'm a fit for your event. With that, you get a secure sense of knowing not only what you're getting, but who you're getting.

You'll notice a refinement, mannerism, vocabulary, way of dressing, and even different self-care between the two categories. They'll come from different homes, different families, and amount of formal education and it shows up in small ways. That is important to consider when you choose who you want your guests and your household to interact with.

Having said all that, I encourage you to shop around and compare other readers. Most people start and end with me, but as I said, occasionally you can find the occasional gem who is less expensive.

The fee for a personal reading is $60/15 minutes. Every month I have a waitlist of clients. I'm accurate, professional, and present well. Many of my clients have been with me for years and my cache keeps on growing. I'm in the fortunate position to choose who I read for.

Set Up:

You have a choice to use Zoom or Skype as they are the most secure of the online meeting platforms on the market.

The set up is prior to the start of your party. We'll connect on Zoom or Skype then test our audio and video connection as well as the screen sharing settings. It's making sure we can see and hear each other.

Simple, right? It is indeed simple, but I can tell you stories!

If you are a regular Zoom or Skype user and you are sure you can hit the ground running from the moment we connect, I'll gladly waive the set up fee or I can apply it towards the extension rate.

The set up also accommodates "switches" in case you want to expand your view or switch to private space. It's highly unusual to take 30 minutes even with switches. The average set up time is 7 minutes, and switches are another 7-8 minutes even for the technologically averse. But I'm happy to accommodate for ambition as guests roll in. (One client, for example, started with the Smart TV in her son's game room, then more guests came so she switched to a projector, surround sound speakers, and a separate PC camera in the living room.)

I don't start the readings during the set up (it's really not feasible). I also can't offer technical support as every person's PC, Mac, phone, etc. is different. Zoom and Skype are user-friendly video chatting tool that is popular worldwide because of it's intuitive layout. It's also more secure and reliable than Facebook Messenger and FaceTime, and you can easily record and store the file yourself without my prompt.

Remote Party Set Up

Before you book, let's talk. There are several ways you can arrange your remote party. We can discuss which arrangement is best for you, including if you prefer phone only for your party.

FOR PRIVATE PARTIES/NON-CORPORATE EVENTS (this may include small businesses if it fits your needs):

Some people request FaceTime, or FB Messenger (or whatever else) instead. While I'm open to that, I strongly discourage it because you don't get the benefits that Zoom or Skype offers, namely:

  • A more private, secure, and stable connection.

  • The ability to begin, end and download a recording with a simple button without my prompt. It stays with you, I do not get a copy.

  • NO screen sharing with other video streaming services (thus, you won't be able to see your natal charts - a feature I highly recommend for your party).

  • Different sound quality (FaceTime and FB Live are mono. Zoom and Skype are stereo.)

  • Unlike the easy "Swap" button on an iPhone that allows a user to switch between front and back cameras, the desktop version of FaceTime doesn't have that option and requires switching cameras through the computer settings, not through the FaceTime interface. No problem, but technology can be fickle and sometimes requires a shut down and restart which cuts into your time.

Though the familiar is comforting, I say aim for quality. Simply taking 5 - 10 minutes to become familiar with Zoom or Skype is best for you and your guests. Zoom is more or less automatic. I give you a link and you pretty much just click. Yet, if you want to use other interfaces, I'll accommodate for your party, provided we arrange that ahead of time. Doing on the spot can be done but it counts on the clock with your time.

FOR NON-PROFITS, PRIVATE BUSINESSES, ACADEMICS, OR CORPORATE EVENTS:

Your company may have its own system or protocol. I did a remote party for a municipal department (not KCMO) and we used Webex by Cisco. One real estate company used MicroSoft Teams. An academic institution used Google Meet. An international company used Intermedia Anything. Those systems were part of their protocols and all I had to do was click on a link.

FAQs (Party Specific)

Party FAQs

What type of readings do you offer for remote parties?

Astrology, Tarot, Mediumship, and psychic readings. Usually, I say stick to astrology, tarot, and psychic readings because Mediumship is connecting with the dearly departed/the loss of a loved one. That will change the mood of your party, even if it's only one guest that's affected. Mix in alcohol with that and it's terrible. It's better to keep it in-spirit for your event (pun not intended) and avoid mediumship unless it's more of a group mediumship with sober minds.

Have you done remote party readings or big events before?

Yes!!! I have been doing them 4 years before they were the thing to do (since 2016)! They range from private parties (ladies nights at home). bridal and a baby showers, weddings, corporate functions and parties (including for a major National Football League team, a television network, and a local radio crew). Even though I'm not a party attendee and part of the "staff" I wholeheartedly enjoy them!

What kind of questions do you answer?

Really there's no limit; however I don't answer questions about your death (it's not my place) or divorce (unless you're already in divorce proceedings). Common questions often are about love, money, career, family, but the sky's the limit. Generally, mediumship questions are not appropriate. It's a party where your guests want to laugh and enjoy themselves, not cry and spread the sadness! As in the fine print, my readings should not be taken as substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

How long are readings at parties?

This really is up to you! If you want a quick turn-around, mini-readings can be done in as quick as 5 minutes per guest. Otherwise, readings can run as long as you'd like. Warning: I'm good. Even the most timid and skeptical of party guests often want to extend their reading time - keep that in mind with your budget and time.

As a general rule of measure, if you're economical, I suggest a cap of around 20 minutes per person for a party of 5-6 people within 2 hours. Because it's a party, 1-2 guests might be satisfied with 15 minutes, but most will want to ask more and more questions as soon as it's their turn.

Formats:

It all really depends on your party or event, but here are two main groupings:

Intimate parties:

These are ladies nights, birthdays, showers... Generally anything where there's a group of friends, family, neighbors, or anything where you're celebrating a personal event, holiday, or time when you'd only invite people in your inner circle. When it's an intimate event and you really want to impress your guests, a longer reading duration for guests is more elegant than the quick 5-minutes per guest churn-and-burn readings. Short readings will feel abrupt to your guests if they're on a timer, they're just getting into a reading and before they know it it's the next person's turn. You might think guests can "loan" minutes to each other - but it just doesn't work that way. It's not fun for your guests either. Having said that, I suggest you share with your guests ahead of time to be mindful and limit readings from 10-20 minutes per guest (otherwise it will go on for hours and get expensive!) To do that, you inform your guests ahead of time. If anyone wants a longer reading or to go into a more personal or serious topic, they can book a private reading for another time.

But much of the time, guests like to get a reading on the spot and still need privacy. Most of the time people like to set up those readings in a separate room. Sometimes guests only want to hear insights and they concentrate on listening, others are more immersed in the images of the cards or astrology charts. Usually when there are astrology charts, the focus is on the words (most people are not familiar with how astrology charts read). With cards, people are curious about the images because they are colorful, often cartoony (depending on the deck), and with Rider-Waite decks there's often a title for major arcana cards such as "The Lovers", "The Empress"...and of course you've likely heard of Hollywood-ominous "Death" and "The Devil" cards if you're familiar with tarot.

Other times, they set up in a common room (a den, a furnished basement, etc) with a shared screen and guests in a circle or random seating all facing the camera and screen.... Aaaaaaand, inevitably there's the "switch": at some point (usually early into the readings), the guests and host decide to change to a more private room (which is why I built that into my options!) As you can see, I have a lot of experience so though at first it seems so strange, cold, and informal to get a remote psychic to read at your party, once I'm on the screen you don't feel much difference because my content (the insight I give your guests) is the value.

Phone readings for private parties are rare, usually for a group of 3-4 friends. Although I like them, sometimes it gets difficult depending on your phone. With that kind of format, I'm put on speaker phone and sometimes the noise-cancellation breaks up your voices and mine. So if you want an audio-only reading for your party, I ask that you set up a separate bluetooth speaker.

Any kind of format you want I can likely accommodate. We'll talk before you book with me.

Large events:

For large corporate events (events with 100 or more guests where there are various stations of entertainment) the quick turnover is definitely more appropriate and won't feel shallow.

An example: I did remote readings for a television network. It was an employee Christmas party with over 100 attendees. At the physical party, there were stations that had in-person services such as aura photos and iris analysis (that's when a reader can look at the iris of your eye and give you insight). Being the television industry, they were in-vibe with remote readers that streamed in via video. Through that, I offered astrology, tarot, and psychic readings on a projected screen in a piped-and-draped station in the main party hall. The guests had the option of listening to me via headset. In another separate pipe-and-draped section, another reader offered oracle readings via video - she only showed her hands and scry, not her face. In the main hall, there were about 5 different readers in separate piped-and-draped spaces adjacent to each other and those sections were adjacent to the aura and iridology booths. Another remote reader offered "team" readings through a separate conference room (that was insight on the different departments within the network). In our initial consultations, the coordinators at the network showed me the plans and layout. They were specifically looking for readers who were comfortable with the format and able to offer remote readings via video. All the readers were from different states.

At another party (an IT company with mostly H1B computer engineers from all parts of the world but working in the same physical location), the set up was a conference room with a central speaker and NO video. With English as their second tongue, it was easier for them to focus on hearing my words instead of seeing cards or charts. It was a holler and a hoot as I answered people's questions and revealed "secrets" (really, it was light hearted with no intrigue or backhandedness - the request was set to keep it on the surface).

Those are sample scenarios. There really are a world of possibilities for remote readings. I'm super versatile yet offer structure.

What age group is this appropriate for?

Astrology and mysticism are now officially meta-trends and don't have as much taboo attached as a decade ago and it continues to grow into everyday lives. I'm available for any age client. For those younger than 18, I ask that an adult parent or guardian give consent for the reading. I've read for children as young as 6 years old, with the mother present on camera or within audio (the way I prefer it). Teenagers are really into knowing more about themselves and their near future. Children are fascinated with readings, often because they want to imitate the adults. Generally, if your teens are getting a reading, there's a good relationship between you two, so there's no major "secrets".

Do you do private (one-on-one) remote readings at parties?

Yes, this is why I talk about a "switch" during "Set Up". One of the reasons for a switch is because some parties have started in an open room setting with everyone present, then people asked for a private reading. During the party, you simply switch to a different device in a different room or guests leave the room. We need to be mindful of how much time your guest uses. Often, for private parties when a guest requests that, they tend to compensate the host/ess. Since you're all friends or family, that's between you. I share this as experience.

How is a party reading different from an individual (private) phone or video reading?

The ambience of a party brings on a different mindset and mood than a private reading. In private readings, the tone is often a little more serious than for a party. For parties, everyone is there to have a good time; I keep the answers light, positive, and sometimes humorous. Parties allow for the experienced, the adventurous, and the curious to leave impressed and give first-timers courage to dive in, which in turn makes you look like the Koolest Host(ess) In Town.😎 Having said that, many attendees at a party like what they hear in the initial group reading and the format often gets switched to private readings off to the side of a party.

Are there readings you do not recommend?

For private parties, I do not recommend mediumship readings even if your guest opts for privacy at your party because sadness isn't soluble in alcohol. (Think runny mascara, frowny face, and a dejected posture.) For very small parties (5-6 guests and yourself) you likely will not invite a party pooper. Add only three more people and one is a potential party-pooper.  (Usually that's the guest that doesn't make the cut to be invited to the smaller 5-6 group or regular lady get-togethers.) If you have 20+ guests (say a Halloween party or a larger birthday bash), there's always one. They may not always surface, but talking about a sad loss will definitely become emotionally apparent. If the person they're asking about doesn't come up or I can't connect to the dearly departed, somehow the emotions and alcohol translate that to abandonment and more loss. Even when the guest is sober and stoic, mediumship just doesn't match the mood of most parties. Having said that, the questions I do not answer are about death (usually "when will I/my parent/my aunt/whoever die?") or questions about divorce (are me and my spouse getting divorced? will my spouse leave me?"). However, if you are already in the process of divorce (either you're legally separated or you both signed the paperwork and you want to know about outcomes and future prospects, those questions are fine.

Are tips included in your baseline rates?

No. This is because there are several ways to manage tips. As a part of hospitality, some hosts/hostesses prefer that their guests do not pay tips. Others yet make arrangements that everyone contributes. There is no right or wrong way to do it, but generally I've found that for office parties, weddings, and celebratory parties, the host/hostess prefers to pay gratuity. On the other hand, usually for ladies night, girl get-togethers, or group focus, everyone pitches in. For more information on tipping convention, click here.

Other things to note.

The minimum time for a party reading is 2 hours. If you think you can get your whole party done in 90 minutes and are looking to pay strictly for time used, consider booking a series of individual readings back-to-back instead.

I've been doing this for a long time. ALL parties and corporate events I've done in the past have gone over 2 hours. Typically, before you host your party, you'd get a tally of how many of your guests would want readings. Let's pretend that's 6 of 10 of your guests and you figure 2 hours is more than enough - and it is if it's only 6 people and they are mindful of time. But then...then, at the party everything changes. The first people to opt in will be very happy with their readings and the others will get curious. They'll also feel safe. Then they'll realize there's an opportunity on the spot and they go for it! Then, sometimes the husbands join! Then the ladies ask me to read for their kids. Then the kids ask if a friend can get a reading... Alright, you see how it goes?

It's not "sexy" to have to stop a party to run a credit card though. After we agree on a time, date, and duration, I will set extra "cushion" time. To secure your booking, I take a deposit and keep your card and a backup payment method on file to charge if we need to run overtime. Or we can run a "hold" ahead of time. That way you have one less thing to worry about after your event and your event will be seamless. Please rest assured, I'm straightforward and transparent about my prices and will not take more than we agreed upon. I wouldn't be in business all these years or been able to amass the stellar reputation I have if I was ever shady. Furthermore, if you like, we can create a contract on your terms. Often, it's the "gentleman's handshake" regarding terms and you get the confirmation through the appointment system I use (Square).

Finally, in regards to time and payment, I do not post-bill. I am a psychic and not a bill collector. I've lost sleep in the past when people "forget" to pay in a timely manner. I appreciate you working with me.

Breaks.
Typically, around 2.5 to 3.5 hours in, I take a short intermission - usually no more than 15 minutes. That gives me a chance to hydrate, stretch, and realign. Sometimes I answer personal questions during my break if I return early. I do not charge for my break time for bookings less than 4 hours. Beyond 4 hours, we will work together ahead of your event to determine when appropriate times for breaks are.

What to do if there's a dropped connection?

I've been conducting business online since 2016. For remote parties, I often use a ethernet connection. I also have wifi and a backup hotspot. To date, I never needed to use a backup for connections and I test and use my hotspot as my main connection every few weeks when doing private readings. If our connection drops, don't fret. I will get back online with you within a minute or two. We'll also have each other's telephone numbers and we can text as I'm reconnecting so you don't have to panic. When we set a time/date and determine which platform we'll use, we'll discuss the way we reconnect if such an extremely rare occurrence were to happen.

What are the steps to book for a party?

Typically, you simply send me an email inquiring about setting up a remote party (please include how many guests and what you're looking to do, date and time). After I receive your party information, we'll set a time for a short chat on the phone (unless you prefer to communicate through email).

Then I send you a quote or invoice and your sample reading is booked.  A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking and the remainder before your party. Fees for additional time beyond the time you booked is taken during intermission before the extension. (See above under "Format"). The deposit is fully refundable so long you cancel 72 hours prior to your event.

If it's a corporate event and your company, institution, or  organization, has a different way to pay, or if the company has a contract, please let me know and I can accommodate for most structures. If your company requires an NDA, I'm glad to sign. Some non-profit organizations have strict standard operating procedures for payments and I can accommodate that too. As mentioned, I have a lot of experience with different formats and I'm versatile. When I can accommodate I do, if I can't I'll tell you.
